The reconstruction of Bhumesthan continues slowly but steadily.
Narayan was on site at the end of December and sent us some more photos. The money for the new roofs was handed over. 21 houses are almost finished – some still need their proper roofs.
They are all confident that things will continue to go well – even if not quite as quickly as desired. There is a shortage of skilled workers to look after all the houses simultaneously. If we're lucky, the foundations of all the houses will be laid before the next monsoon – but in a country like Nepal, that's impossible to predict with certainty.
We will definitely stay in contact and provide further updates...
The residents of Bhumesthan send another big thank you to all donors - they are overjoyed that people from such a distant country are thinking of them and helping them.
