Meal packages | Covid pandemic

July 6, 2020

While life here is slowly returning to normal, the situation in Nepal looks completely different.

People have not been able to work for months and have been stuck in lockdown. Many migrant workers cannot return to their families; the women at home have no money for food.

Therefore, together with Narayan, we would like to put together food packages for families in order to help at least a few.

Donate a food package to a family in Nepal for 37 CHF!

A package costs around $38 - includes 30kg of rice, lentils, oil and salt - and would keep the family afloat for 1.5 - 2 months.

We would be very happy to receive a lot of support!

This time Narayan wants to help his neighbors in Kathmandu.

Luckily, the residents of Bhumesthan are not affected as much by the lockdown. Since they are largely self-sufficient, they don't lack for food.

July 1, 2020

We asked for support via Facebook & WhatsApp and are delighted to be able to send a decent chunk of help again.

July 11, 2020

Today we transferred $1920 to Narayan.
Since it was a lot more money than we initially thought, packages can now be distributed to families where the man is at home but has no income.

July 19, 2020

Narayan was able to use the money to put together 51 food packages and hand them over to families in need.
We have integrated soap into the packages, as these are particularly important these days and very few people can afford them.

August 20, 2020

Since Narayan knows more families in need and more donations came in last month, we were able to transfer another $600.

July 7, 2021

Narayan told us that some of his neighbors were doing very badly, so we transferred another 280.00 CHF.
