As is so often the case in life, things move much, much slower in Nepal than here. In May 2021, the idea arose to buy good breeding goats for the village, so that the standard of living could be improved a little more.
Many discussions have taken place in the meantime, and many thoughts have been expressed.
The Lions Club Hochwald-Hermeskeil has granted us a generous budget. But even in Nepal, good breeding goats come at a price.
Bhumesthan had to honestly admit that they couldn't buy the desired goats with their budget; they already have plenty of "normal" goats.
But Nepal is very large and there are many poor villages.
In the spring of 2022, Christine Herzog traveled through Nepal with Narayan and a good friend of his, visiting a small village in the Langtang region. The area had been severely affected by the earthquake, and the people were very poor.
This village would be very grateful for help and could really use the milk and some breeding animals to significantly raise its standard of living.
Even though things are often quiet on our website, in real life we are always in contact with Nepal and look at how we can improve the simple lives of the people there in a way that allows self-help to progress further.
