Visit the Hermeskeil Lions Club

February 4, 2023

On February 4th, we were invited to personally present our project and our experiences to the Lions Club. Unfortunately, I, Maya, had a severe case of sinusitis. Christine Herzog therefore traveled to Germany alone and gave a wonderful presentation, receiving only positive feedback from all sides – and perhaps even the prospect of further collaboration.

A few words from Christine Herzog:

To make the purchase of the 32 goats in Grang a reality, the German Lions Club Hermeskeil Hochwald supported us with their donations. We maintained close contact and communication with the Lions Club project managers throughout the entire process. Nevertheless, the project remained somewhat abstract for those who hadn't yet visited the site. Therefore, we were invited to give a presentation at a club meeting on February 4, 2023, in Hermeskeil in the Hunsrück region, introducing the goat project. We presented the planning, the initial visits, and the official handover of the goats in the village of Grang . Approximately 40 people attended, including all the project managers from the Lions Club. The feedback from the attendees was that the pictures and explanations had given them a better understanding of the project, and they appreciated the authentic and focused approach of the association . Investing in agricultural projects gives people in poor villages the prospect of generating their own income and avoiding migration to Kathmandu or forced labor. Therefore, the proposal for further goat farming projects in the future was received positively.

Thanks to your efforts, we were able to realize the goat project.
